Originally opened as The Fountain Inn, the building later transitioned to the Gold Room restaurant in the 1960s and, by 2006, became RockBar, a popular 1970s-themed venue. Now, with its place on the National Register of Historic Places, the All Inn Hotel is set to embrace a fresh identity as a boutique hotel in Denver’s dynamic East Colfax neighborhood.

After sitting vacant since its closure in 2022, the All Inn Hotel was acquired by Brian Toerber, who initially envisioned turning the property into apartments. However, Toerber recognized a gap in local accommodations for visitors to nearby attractions such as City Park, the Denver Zoo, and the Museum of Nature and Science.

In response, Toerber has revised his plans to redevelop the All Inn Hotel as a boutique hotel, featuring 54 rooms, a restaurant, a lobby bar, and an outdoor pool accessible to both guests and the public. This adaptive reuse of the historic building promises to keep its mid-century charm intact while enhancing the area’s hospitality options.

With room rates expected to start around $200 per night, the revitalized hotel aims to bring fresh energy and accessibility to East Colfax, capitalizing on the area’s growing appeal. The hotel’s scheduled completion is late 2025, marking yet another transformation in the legacy of this historic property.

Community reaction has been mixed. While some welcome the reimagined venue as a boost to local tourism and a new landmark, others raise concerns about the potential for increased traffic in the area.

The boutique hotel’s development represents an opportunity to breathe new life into East Colfax while preserving a cherished piece of Denver’s architectural history.
