Over in the Platt Park neighborhood, along Pearl Street between Buchtel Blvd & Louisiana Ave, the owner of a seven- parcel site is requesting a zoning change to facilitate redevelopment.
Currently, the site is improved with multi-unit residential, commercial, an industrial warehouse, offices, and a surface parking lot. The owner is requesting a zoning change from U-MS-3 to U-MS-5, which will allow for a 5 story residential or mixed-use building.
The site is situated directly across from the Ashton on S Pearl, a 5-story boutique apartment building that was completed earlier this year.
Additionally, the site is only 3 blocks North of the heart of S Peal Street, making it an ideal location for future multifamily development. With direct access to the mountains via I-25 and convenient proximity to the RTD light rail, the site ranks high on accessibility.
During the previous meeting, the planning board recommended that the zoning change receive approval. However, the final decision will be heard at the December 18th meeting. Stay tuned for more updates!
