Picture this: it’s 2028 and you’re racing to catch a flight out of Denver International Airport (DIA). You forgot headphones, your charger, or maybe even a swimsuit.

Instead of paying triple airport prices or hoping to find something when you land, you make a quick pit stop, at Target, just five minutes before you reach the terminal!

5607 N Tower Rd

Target just dropped $7 million to purchase 10.6 acres along 56th Avenue, west of Tower Road, where they’ll build a 151,000 square-foot store.

56th and Tower

It’ll anchor Link 56, a massive 150-acre mixed-use development rising near Green Valley Ranch.

Aerial View

Plans include 30 acres of retail, 2,000 residential units, and 27 acres of open space connecting to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal.

Target’s project kicks off phase one, which also includes 214 apartments, 170 townhomes, and a wave of additional retail, rumor has it, Portillo’s might be coming too.

Aerial View

The total price tag for phase one is $235 million and construction starts now.

Here’s the catch: traffic at 56th & Tower is already a nightmare. Add thousands of new residents, a full shopping center, and a regional Target, this intersection might need more than a left-turn signal to survive.

56th and Tower

Despite the concern, for travelers and locals alike, this stretch near DIA is about to level up in a big way.
