In Denver's Golden Triangle, Mayor Mike Johnston partnered with Milender White are spearheading the construction of a new micro-community at the corner of Elati Street & 14th Avenue.
Aimed at providing temporary housing for the homeless as part of his ambitious House1000 campaign which seeks to house 1,000 homeless individuals for at least 14 days.
This micro community in the Golden Triangle is in the final stages of completion should welcome 44 individuals within the next month or two.
In addition to 44 shed-like sleeping units, the community will feature on-site laundry, garbage disposal, shared kitchen and shared restroom.
The community will also offer on-site employment services and other resources to help individuals obtain permanent housing.
