A family legacy, a neighborhood favorite, Denver’s beloved Café Miriam has officially opened its second location in Uptown Denver.
Bringing their signature blend of French-Moroccan flavors, warm hospitality, and vibrant café culture to 1707 Lafayette Street, this new outpost carries the heart and soul of the original City Park location while adding a fresh chapter to the café’s growing legacy.
For those who have long adored Café Miriam’s handcrafted crepes, flavorful Moroccan tagines, and rich espresso drinks, this expansion is a welcome treat.
The new location, which took over the former Waffle Brothers space, has been completely transformed with a $140,000 remodel.
A cozy, inviting two-story café brimming with character, where the aroma of fresh espresso and warm pastries greets every guest at the door.
The story of Café Miriam is as rich as its menu. Founder Touhami Elfahdi, a seasoned traveler with a passion for hospitality, set out in 2016 to create something special—not just a café, but a gathering place.
He found the perfect spot across from City Park and enlisted his children, Miriam and Jamil, to help bring the vision to life. With determination, creativity, and a lot of hands-on work, the family designed and built the café themselves, learning the business from the ground up.
When Café Miriam officially opened in June 2017, the response was electric. Lines stretched out the door, pastries vanished from the shelves, and baristas barely had time to catch their breath between pulling espresso shots.
The café quickly became a neighborhood gem, known not only for its delicious fare but also for its warm, welcoming atmosphere—a place where every guest feels like family.
Now, after years of success at 2217 E 21st Ave, Café Miriam is bringing its charm to a brand-new neighborhood. While the Uptown location stays true to the original’s authentic flavors and laid-back ambiance, it also introduces a few new surprises.
On the menu, guests will find fan-favorite dishes, from Tuscan breakfasts to Nutella crepes, alongside new pastry offerings by acclaimed chef Pascal Trompeau.
We stopped by to experience the new location firsthand—and it did not disappoint.
The Tuscan breakfast, featuring perfectly prepared eggs and fresh ingredients, paired beautifully with a warm Nutella crepe and a bold, aromatic espresso.
With its cozy two-story setting, rich flavors, and genuine hospitality, Café Miriam Uptown is poised to become a new favorite for Denver’s coffee and brunch lovers.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering the café for the first time, this is a spot you won’t want to miss.
For now, Café Miriam Uptown is open for winter hours:
