Maria Empanada, the beloved Argentinian fast-casual restaurant chain, is set to open its fourth location in Denver on East Colfax Avenue!
The space, which has sat vacant for three years following the closure of the burger shop Little Beast, will soon be a vibrant destination for empanada lovers.
J. Allen Adams, the director of operations for Maria Empanada, explained that the opening had been delayed due to slow permitting processes, a common challenge amid the high demand from applicants in the city.
"The location is still under construction right now and is gradually taking shape," Adams said. "It will be opening in the middle of November, just before the holidays."
While some neighboring businesses, like Pete’s Greek Town Cafe and Natural Grocers, have closed their doors, other storefronts are thriving, creating a mix of opportunity and revitalization in the area.
There is much optimism on the success of the new location, particularly due to its proximity to East High School, where students often frequent nearby restaurants during lunch breaks.
The closeness and quick, easy meal coupled with being in a walkable neighborhood is sure to bring in students.
For those eager to enjoy Maria Empanada's offerings before the new location opens, there are three other locations in Denver: 1700 Platte St., 1298 S. Broadway Ave., and 2501 Dallas St. at Stanley Marketplace.
Additionally, the chain plans to expand further, with a new restaurant scheduled to open at Denver International Airport in April.
As the new East Colfax location nears completion, the community eagerly anticipates the opening of this charming eatery, where authentic Argentinian flavors will soon fill the air.
